How do you know which pest service you need?

Most people call us knowing what they saw, not what species it was, and that is a perfectly good place to start. What you saw, where you saw it, and what time of day narrows it down fast. Ants on a kitchen counter in the morning, a roach in a bathroom at night, and something moving in the attic after dark are three different problems with three different treatments, and the difference matters more than the label on a can.

Pests you see indoors

Cockroaches divide into two problems in Florida. German roaches breed indoors in kitchens and bathrooms and need the harborage treated rather than the room sprayed. Palmetto bugs, the large ones people find in a garage or bathtub, mostly live outdoors and come in through gaps. Ants are usually a trail from an outdoor colony, which is why treating the trail alone brings them back. Silverfish are a humidity signal before they are a pest problem, and they turn up in the parts of the house that stay damp.

Pests in the yard and on the structure

Mosquitoes come from two sources at once here: containers holding water on your own lot, and the shaded vegetation where adults rest between bites. Treating one and not the other leaves half the problem. Ticks wait along yard edges and trail margins rather than in open turf. Wasps and hornets build under eaves and soffits, where a nest is easier to remove early than late. Spiders follow their food, so the lasting fix is treating the insects they hunt.

Pests that get into the structure itself

Roof rats are the common Tampa Bay rodent, and they arrive along fences, branches, and utility lines rather than across open ground. Trapping without sealing the entry points simply makes room for the next one. Fleas are the pest where the pupal stage drives the schedule: pupae are protected inside their cocoons and hatch for weeks after a treatment, which is why a single visit rarely finishes the job. In-wall pest tubing is different from the rest of this list. It is a delivery system built into the walls that lets treatment reach the voids where pests travel, without drilling.

What does a treatment plan actually involve?

Every plan starts with an inspection, because the treatment depends on what is actually happening and where. From there a plan usually combines three things: treating the active population, addressing the conditions that let it build up, and closing the ways in. Which of the three carries the most weight depends entirely on the pest. Rodent work is mostly exclusion. Flea work is mostly timing. German roach work is mostly finding the harborage.

Recurring service exists because Florida does not have a season where pest pressure stops. Treatments break down in sun and rain, and the pests that were kept out in March are still trying in September. Visits that build on each other, with the same information carried from one to the next, hold better than a series of unrelated single treatments.
